Accessibility

Our commitment to accessibility

As an online service provider we take extreme care to ensure both our services and our clients work is produced to the very highest standards of accessibility and usability. It’s in the core of everything we do and is a fundamental aspect of the Web. We don’t charge extra, we don’t “sell” accessibility, it’s all part of the service.

Guidelines and standards

For the technically inquisitive amongst you, all the work we produce adheres to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) recommendations. For accessibility we abide by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines which is seen as the primary global standard for producing accessible websites.

Beyond this, the code which makes up websites content and style, HTML and CSS, is validated. The W3C provide a validation tool that verifies this. In layman’s terms, a valid website is a better website. It’s more accessible to more people and devices.

Although the tools are sound, it’s what you do with them that matters so in producing this and other websites, we’ve used high contrast, clear fonts with a linear navigation system and a distinct highlight for knowing your location within the network of websites we provide.

Known issues

We know of none so far. Let us know if you find one.

Feedback

Despite objective measures like sticking to the recommended specifications and validating the code, it’s the subjective side of the Web that counts. Everybody has an opinion on what’s best for them. If you have any problems accessing or using this website, please do not hesitate to contact us, even if it’s to inform us you’re not keen on the colours or fonts. Feedback is the breakfast of champions and we welcome your opinions. Please use the contact form and give us your thoughts.
